Santa's Star

Yesterday I caught my favorite "newer" Christmas movie

The Polar Express

The Polar Express (2004) Poster

This star reminded me of the star that is rescued and flown up to the top of the tree at the North Pole...just in time for Santa to appear!

This is a Digital Delights image. I printed it super large to attach to a standard card.

Be sure to do a few things after you leave this page...

The winner will win a $15 gift voucher from

I used reinkers and alcohol on glossy paper to create the festive background.
Kinda makes it look like the star is falling from a lit up tree, doesn't it?

The star was inked with Distress inks and a sponge. He started out white.
I then stamped him with the Friendship Definition stamp by Hero Arts.

His eyes are done with Glossy Accents and his hat is glittered up with Stickles.

Challenges I am entering this in...

Merry Christmas...it's almost here!

Showstopper Shopper!

Hmmm...

If I were carrying all those bags, I would not be smiling...unless I was DONE!

However, she seems to embody the thrill of shopping during the holiday season.

I must say, I love visiting the nearby shopping village at this time of year. You can't get a parking space,  but the busyness makes it fun nonetheless.

This card is for the Hobbycutz Challenge this week...All Tied Up.

The image was graciously supplied to me by KennyK.

As a prize, the random winner of this challenge will win something amazing.

Be sure to enter!

I used Prismacolor markers to color the shopper. Gray was used for the shadows.
Her eyes and lips are coated with Glossy Accents. Stickles dress up her fur.

As for the leafy branch, which is a laser cut by Hobbycutz, I first painted the branch with acrylic paint, then embossed it with some glittery embossing powder by SU!.

The background paper is vintage CTMH, which I have had for over 7 years! I also used my good ol' cloud stencil by CTMH and some chalks.

I used the out of the box technique, which is super simple using my old Coluzzle system.

Merry Christmas!

Stitched Pears

My love of fruit stamps, vintage and shabby chic have not waivered. I combined all my loves in this card for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge.

I used one of my favorite stamp sets, Pears.  I used an old CTMH stamp for the background, which I stamper over the masked pears with Distress Ink.

The pears are colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Mineral Spirits. I also used some Smooches on the fruit.

The paper is Graphic 45's French Country. I have almost used every scrap of this pad. I love it so.

The frame was cut on my Cricut, out of a piece of Coordinations.

I stitched with heavy duty thread on my Singer.

Thanks for looking,
Merry Christmas!

25 for 25

Food, Fun, Festivities, Friends old and new, what more could you ask for?...

How about

25 Christmas Cards for $25!

The ladies worked like busy elves...I am sure it was much warmer at my house than the North Pole!

We met at 10 and worked until around 4. Teams of two worked on each card, then the teams switched until 25 cards were completed.

I hope to have another workshop like this in the winter to pass the "cold winter hours"
here in Florida... We might have to put on the air conditioner!

I really enjoyed having these sweet women in my home. It was a great time.

Merry Christmas!
