Hi-Ya!

 

My husband George grew up on a Dairy Farm. He was a hard worker then, and he's a hard worker now, even with a bad back.

 

I don't know what I would do without him.

 

This little lady looks like she is waiting for a cow to come in from the field so she can get some fresh milk!

 

It's Thursday, and that means it's time for another Digital Delight's Delightful Thursday full of inspirational artwork by our Design Team.

 

This is my sample for you.

 

I used Farm Girl Polly

 

 

 and the Down on the Farm Digital Paper Pack
 

(the green gingham).

For my sentiment I used the Keeping In Touch Sentiment Set
 

 

The other patterned paper is by Crate Paper's Pretty Party Collection. The denim is by
 The Paper Studio.

 

 

I wanted to make this card really country. I colored the image with Prismacolor Markers, using a set of grays to shadow. The papers, gingham, denim and calico just shout country to me. I colored her to match the papers...so much easier than trying to find paper to match a colored image!

 

I sewed the card with Heavy Duty thread on my Singer. The red twine is really old, from the kid's craft dept. in Walmart I think...

 

 

I am on a Glossy Accents kick right now, and I love what it does for eyes, although Polly's eyes here are already huge...they look like they are pooling with tears...poor Polly!

 

 

For me, digital sentiments are a fun challenge. I love to get creative with them. This time I made a small tag, and stamped it with some CTMH stamps, inking the edge

 with Distress Ink in Faded Jeans...how fitting!

 

A small red eyelet keeps the tag from tearing off the red twine.

Autumn Collage Leaves

Who doesn't love Autumn? Funny though, here is Florida I actually look forward to the cooler days of WINTER!

 

We are still in the high 80's here, so the air conditioner is still very important.

 

Today, with all the rain, I needed some sunny colors to brighten my day, so I took out the leaves I stamped and cut last week at our community Card Making Club. I call this technique,

 "collage stamping".

 

 

They are so beautiful. I just wanted to use all of them and frame them with black so they would totally POP!

 

I stamped them with Stamper's Anonymous' "Falling Leaves" stamps, along with "Windsor" and "Perfume" Clear stamps by Kaisercraft.

 

 

But first, I took some Distress Ink Pads and dragged them across the white card stock. I used Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint, and Mustard Seed, along with a bit of Fired Brick. I also stamped some of the images with Walnut Stain.

 

The banners are by Tim Holtz...Tattered Banners Die. The sentiments are by CTMH. I also used some twine by them.

 

 

I also used some Glossy Accents to make little shiny dots on the black as well as the leaves.

Plus, the background is embossed with some leaves in clear embossing powder over Versamark watermark ink.  They are difficult to see.

 

 

I haven't made a fancy fold card in awhile...a LONG while. This was fun. I need to do more.

A Clean and Simple Hello

 

 

I made this card using a technique called, "Inlay" for the sentiment in the corner.
I used a the Happy Hello Die set from My Favorite Things.

 

Then I realized I had a Tuesday Throwdown Clean and Simple challenge to make an inspiration piece for.

 

I simply added the digital image from Whiff of Joy, and I was done.

I love the inlay on this card. I picked up the beautiful Autumn colors from the patterned paper to color my image, using Prismacolor Premier Pencils.

  I have two cats and three granddaughters, so this image was my choice from the digital stamps we were graciously supplied by

Whiff of Joy.

 

 

Isn't she adorable?

 

I cut a simple circle around most of my digital image, using my good 'ol Coluzzle, thus keeping my fussy cutting to a minimum.

On a side note... 

I was told today that I am in a great mood...I am actually in a beachy mood, as you can tell from my title bar, which I created from a picture I took in Sarasota, Florida.

 

Vacation is officially over.

 

Now back to reality...my vacation-like life here at home in my stamp studio...

 

It's time for Team B's inspiration art for

the Hobbycutz challenge!

 

This week we were supplies with adorable images by Kenny K.

They are sponsoring the challenge this month, which is:

 

Black, white, and 1 color.

 

I chose blue, and used Hobbycutz' butterfly and two flower laser cuts,

which I coated with Distress Stain in Picket Fence.

 

 

I used Prismacolor Pencils and mineral spirits to color this little lady.

 

 

She is fussy cut and layered over black polka dot paper from my stash, along with very old CTMH gingham B&T paper. A tiny white card stock border separates the two patterns, which gives your eyes somewhere to rest...a bit.

 

Be sure to enter the challenge, and don't forget to check out the amazing laser cuts. The prices are great, and these cuts are beautifully cut.

The Purpose of Vacation

For the first three mornings we combed the beach for shells and (hopefully) sand dollars.

After that I enjoyed sleeping in.

As a matter of fact, the first morning we were up at 3 AM,
and watched the moon glow over the ocean.

We are home now...back to reality and my own bed.

Vacation makes you miss HOME.

It worked.

It's time for my inspiration card for Digital Delights.

Another Whitewashed card, paper pieced like last time...told you I was hooked!

After paper piecing this card, I ran it through my vagabond with an embossing folder by

The Paper Studio.  It's backwards, just to add a bit of whimsy and interest.

Each apple has a highlight. I used Wink of Stella Glitter Pen that I picked up from Simon Says Stamp...very subtle sparkle...great tool to have.

The paper is from Graphic 45's French Country. I sewed the card with heavy duty thread on my Singer.

The Apple and Sentiment are by Digital Delights. Three apples in a row made me think of counting...

One, Two, Three...counting until you return.

The twine is by CTMH. I recently tried my hand at selling their products,

 but it kinda cramped my style...

I like to use EVERYTHING!

The banner was swiped with some CTMH ink.

The softness of whitewashing is so lovely. It makes everything look so "shabby chic".

I think I will enter this into some challenges...why not?

Made With Love

 

Sometimes I just like to take the day to make a lovely vintage card...

 

I nearly never make the same card twice.

To begin, I am using a sketch from Digi Haven challenge blog:


 

This card started with an image from Digital 2 For Tuesday. If you love vintage, you will definitely want to visit this site.

 

I love to go with the theme. Here, I added a button placard, with buttons and old paper from CTMH, which I have folded and punched, then weaved with paper strips. this mimics sewing with fabric, as in the stamp image.

 

 

I also used some beautiful paper from Tres Chic, which I have had for years. The burlap paper is from Hobby Lobby. I used some stamps from Crafty Secrets, which is another place you must visit for vintage satisfaction.

 

The trellis die cut in the background is from my last visit to our Card Club here in my community. Sorry, I don't remember whose it is.

 

The banner is made with the Tattered Banner Die from Tim Holtz for Sizzix.

 

I used some copper embossing powder to edge the image, and to create the thread image.

 

 

Copper eyelets follow the copper theme. I sewed the layers together on my Singer with Heavy Duty thread.

 

 

I colored the image with Primacolor Pencils, and blended with mineral spirits. I used the out of the box technique, using my old buddy of a tool, my Coluzzle, to partially cut the circle, allowing me to let the image flow out the edge of the circle. I use this technique quite often.

 

The bow is made with beautiful white ribbon which I inked with a bit of Distress Ink by Ranger in Frayed Burlap. I then heated it with my heat tool to make it melt and curl.
