Holly Lola

Happy Halloween!

I am done with Halloween cards. Time to move on to something more refreshing!
Here in Florida it is getting cooler, but I still need ice water while I am working outside.
This little frosty gal looks cool, huh?

This is Snowy Lola from Digital Delights. I used her, as well as the Christmas Hugs Sentiments Set to make this inspiration piece as a member of the Design Team.

Black happens to be a favorite color of mine. (I know, it's not a color)  It really sets off the colors on this card. It's my go-to background.

I used Prismacolor markers and a bit of Gelly Roll Pen in white.
Stickles on her nose, and the tag.

Red ribbon I bought at the Offray Ribbon outlet in PA loooong ago.
Holly paper from a small paper pad by MME.

Color My World

(First, let me say sorry the image is so poor. Maybe I will get a chance to switch it out.) The rest of the pics are better...

Digital Delights Design Team Cards are up for the week...check'em out!

This is mine.

I used this set
Color my world set

But first, I had some fun with my DecoArt Acrylic paints!

Using the spotlight technique, I traced a heart on her face. I colored it with Prismacolor Markers, then coated it with Glossy Accents. The rest of the image is colored with only gray Prisma Marker.
I used some black Enamel Accents in the corners...just tiny dots.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafty Little Fairies - Anything Goes 10/30
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes 11/6
Inkspirational - Anything Goes 10/25

All Alone on a Creepy Night

I watched too many scary movies as a kid.

If I think about them in the middle of the night, I still get the heebie-jeebies!

But I love making Halloween cards!...go figure.

This adorable image is by

As the sponsor for Tuesday Throwdown's Creepy Crawlies Challenge this week, we at the design team were gifted with our choice of digital stamp. Such a treat!

I used the spotlight technique, coloring with Prismacolor Markers. I used some gold embossing powder around the edges of the light circle from her flashlight, and stitched with my Singer.

I melted the ribbon to make it look web-like.

The background paper is by MME.

Snow is Glistenin'

My first new ornament for 2013!

This is my inspiration piece for Hobbycutz' Challenge this week...

"Home Décor - Anything but a Card"

I used a laser cut frame by Hobbycutz. There are 3 sizes in the set...
this is the smallest.

The adorable snowman is a digital stamp gifted to the Design Team by

I painted it with Decoart white acrylic paint, sanded the inner edges, sprayed it with Americana matte sealer,
and then sprinkled it with Frantage shaved ice.

The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils.
I used my old favorite CTMH cloud stencil and chalk to do the sky.

Enamel Accents make the snow fall.
A bit of Glossy Accents was used on the snowman.
A bit of ribbon turns it into an ornament.

Not sure it will hang on my tree this year though.
My cat Nickelback (Nick for short) is a real Toy Boy! Might not even HAVE a tree!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by, come back soon!

Glistening Wedding Cake

Just as if it was coated in icing, this entire cake (and stand) was coated in
Glossy Accents. By doing this, I was able to stamp the background over the cake.

If you know me at all, you know I have 2 loves when it comes to card making...

Digital Stamps &
Coloring

Not that there aren't other things I love about card making and stamping...

I just love these two things best.

This is Thursday, which means more eye candy by the Digital Delights Design Team.

To make this card, I used the Tiered Cake

Love is in the air sentiment set - Click Image to Close

Before coloring this cake with Prismacolor Pencils, I added the sentiment in Publisher, digitally.

Easy Peasy!
After the Glossy Accents dried, I stamped over it with a background stamp I have had forever. It's an old CTMH wedding words wood mounted stamp. I stamped it with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.
I used Tattered Floral and Shabby Shutters DI with an inking tool to the background.
I mounted this onto an embossed olive card stock frame,
then onto a pink patterned paper from my stash.
The ruffle at the bottom is from Stampin' Up!
Finally, the card needed something, so I stamped two filigree corners in
Walnut Stain DI. The corners are by Crafty Secrets.

Be sure to stop over at Delightful Challenges to see what's going on.
You might win a ten dollar voucher from Digital Delights! The challenge is:

Who's Out There?

Hi Everyone,

Today I have the honor of being the Guest Designer at Crafting By Design.

I was also privileged to choose a digital stamp to use, by Big Head Stamps!

I chose Gerard. Isn't he adorable?

The challenge at CBD is, "Anything Goes," which makes it super easy for you to enter.

Go ahead!

I teach a class on shading with color. I think it makes for an interesting effect. I use Indigo Blue and Crimson Red Prismacolor Premier Pencils to do all my shading.

I used the Out of the Box technique to make a spotlight around Gerard, putting him in the light, while the "rest of the world out there" is in the shadows...
Poor Gerard!

As his huge eyes are the main focus (no pun intended), I used some Glossy Accents to coat his big green eyes.

I created the simple sentiment in Word.

The background papers are from a 6x6 pad by MME.
The fibers are by EK Success...had 'em for awhile...

I used Memento Black to ink the edges of virtually everything!

I used a sketch from Kathy's Waffle Sketch Challenge Blog
(see her sketch below).

And the inside...inspired by Pink Elephant's Photo (see below)

I used a paper inlay technique. I used the same papers to attach strips of paper together,
before die-cutting the greeting.

I am entering Gerard in some challenges...
Clear It Out - Halloween/Orange Stash (fibers)
Scrap Creations - Cut It Out
Oldie But A Goodie - Spooky (old fibers)
Papertake Weekly - Happy Halloween Hues

Party Time Tuesday - Color Challenge

C is for Challenge - Halloween
Craftin' Desert Divas - Halloween
Crafty Boots  - Halloween

Home Sweet Home

Here's a super easy layout for you, and the formula:

Large print  + Large sentiment + One color =
this CAS card. (clean and simple)

I wanted to use a layout that was simple, to make the sentiment the main focus.

By using vellum for the sentiment, the "wallpaper" pattern can still be enjoyed. It's inked on the edges with Distress Ink, and attached with four brads.

A white border helps the black "chair rail" look clean and polished.

Striped paper from my stash of old CTMH B&T resembles bead board.

The card needed something more, so I used my Cricut to make three little hearts, and used
Platinum Liquid Pearls to dress them up.
*Ranger PLATINUM PEARL Liquid Pearls Decorative Glue LPL09719
I used a simple sentiment inside, along with some designer paper, pop-dotted to hide the brads.

Here are the challenges I am entering this card in...
