Seaside Holiday

Ah Summer. Remember the beautiful Morning Glory vines covering everything? I remember planting them the very first time. I had to soak the seeds overnight before planting...then every year they would multiply and pop up everywhere! Such a pretty blanket of color.

This is my inspiration piece over at the Artsystamper Digitals Challenge. (not just for digital stamps!)I hope you will take a moment to check out all the amazing art created by the Artsystamper Addicts Design Team. They always blow me away with their talent.

As well as it's sister set, Morning Glory Digital Paper Pack
from the happy memories of my early gardening years.

Coloring this set, I wanted to make the images look vintage. I used blues from Prismacolor markers and Premier Pencils. I also used some Nuvo alcohol markers. The images come already colored by me, and you also receive colorable images. Lots of options!

I printed out some of the matching papers from the set and layered them with a piece of lace from my stash. A piece of Glossy Black Mirror Card by Tonic was used as a mat. I used marker to edge the oval image and the sentiment, which is also included in the set. I add Nuvo Vintage Drops in Bohemian Teal as an accent on the flowers.

You can find these digitals, as well as many more in my Etsy Shop. Once you create something with any of my digitals, you can join the Artsystamper Art FB Page, where everyone shares their Artsystamper art. I hope to see you there!

Old Friends Are Best

Hi I'm Beverly Cole aka Artsystamper...Hello and welcome to my studio! The first Monday of November brings another Artsystamper Challenge . The theme this time is

M
onochromatic
As always, the winner will receive the stamp set of their choice from TheArtsystamperShop. My selections offer stamps and sentiments, as well as pre-colored images and papers for easy, last minute cards. Why not take a moment and check out what I have in store for you?
Here is my inspiration piece for the challenge. I used two of my digital sets to create this card... Cruisin' Digital Stamp Set

I printed all the elements of my card out on white cardstock. It's easy to size the papers to your card before printing, so you don't have any leftover paper. I ran the diamond paper through my machine with an embossing folder, then sanded away some of the dots. I then used Black Soot Distress Ink to darken the paper a bit, so the car would stand out.
The gears are from a Bigz die by Tim Holtz. I used Ranger Alcohol ink to color the aluminum (from a soda can). A piece of gingham seam binding is attached over the bottom edge of the top layer, to ground the car. The sentiment is also from the set.
Some clear embossing powder creates a shine on the car, and some Black Nuvo Drops shine up the tires.
I hope you will hop on over to Artsystamper Digitals Challenge Blog and enter! You will also see more inspiring designs from the Artsystamper Addicts Design Team...so much talent!

Santa Says Hello!

I love retro...love it! So I designed this Sweet Santa Digital Stamp Set with retro accents. I also designed the Retro Fun Paper Pack, because of my love for retro.

I will also use it the card in my next post.

This is one of my samples for the Artsystamper Digitals Challenge Blog. Our challenge which starts Monday will be Monochromatic...so you can get a head start on that one!

I used two of my digital sets to create this card...

I printed out the black and white chevron paper at 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 and the red diamond paper at 3 3/4  by 5, merging it with the Sweet Santa face and retro stars. A second Santa was printed the same size by copying and printing the face. I also printed the Hello sentiment sizing it to create a small tag for the card.

All of the items were printed on 1 sheet of card stock. It's kind of like creating a card kit, as I can save it in Open Office, and print it again.

I attached some 1/4 inch Tearific Tape by Glitters Galore to the edges of the black chevron paper. The double sided tape is perfect for glitter, and I used Waterscape Glitter, burnishing it with my finger.

Sweet Santa's beard was coated with two way glue. When dry, I burnished white floss into it and the hat fur as well...so fluffy!

A piece of cord, repurposed from a gift box, adds a fun retro curve, where a tiny tag is hanging. I added drops of Glossy Accents to the tag, which is popped up with dimentionals, along with Sweet Santa's face, which is layered over the preprinted face on the red diamond piece. I also added Glossy Accents to Santa's eyes and teeth.
