Time Not Wasted

The quote on this altered canvas says,

"At the beach, time you enjoyed wasting is not time wasted"

-T. S. Eliot

I created this altered canvas over an old picture of apples...got it at a yard sale for 25 cents.

I belong to the Design Team at Altered Eclectics, which really helps me keep on track with projects. I do great with deadlines...they give me a time frame within which I can work.

Altered Eclectics has a challenge every month, and it's always,
"Anything Goes, but no layouts or cards."

Get busy on the Altered Eclectics challenge...you have all month!

Here's how I made my inspiration piece...

I covered the canvas with sample paint from Lowes...those little Valspar pots you can get for half off or free with a coupon from a magazine. (I had three).

Next, I Modpodged patterned paper onto the painted canvas, then used a couple of card stock stencils made from background dies to make a dotted texture with spackle I had in the garage.

I attached crushed shells and glass beads with lots of Mod Podge, which had to dry overnight.

I then wrote the quote freehand, and used some Crafty Secrets stamps for the images. The last thing I did was attach driftwood and a starfish with Glossy Accents.

I thoroughly enjoyed my vacation, which is where I took the picture in my blog header...just combing the beach...

Enjoy the journey,
