Magnificent Magnolias with Carole

Hello!
Happy Monday!

I have two cards to share today and both feature the beautiful My Magnolia digital stamp set. This set comes with three black and white digital stamps for you to colour and three pre-coloured images for quick and easy projects, as well as three sentiments and three beautiful digital papers.

My first card has a mixed media background and is hand coloured.
Here it is:

I arranged two of the .png magnolia stamps together in my chosen graphics program, resized them and printed them out. Bev has a video tutorial on how to do this which you can view here and here.

I coloured the image with Copic markers, using Bev's coloured images as my guidelines. Once happy with the colouring, I added some white Posca pen highlights and dots. I blended Antique Linen ink for the background. I die cut plain white card to make a frame for the magnolia. I used a brayer and Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks to create the colour on the frame. I toned it down with some PaperArtsy Snowflake chalky paint and added some white paint splatters. I inked around the frame edges with black archival ink.

The magnolia and background were adhered to the centre of a 15cm square card and the frame was popped up on foam tape. The sentiment is from the Sketched Spring Blossoms set. I die cut it with a scalloped oval and inked the background with Antique Linen. The edges of the scalloped oval were lightly inked with Seedless Preserves to add some definition. The sentiment was popped up on foam tape.

My second card uses the pre-coloured Magnolias and one of the three digital background papers from the set.

Again I arranged two of the pre-coloured stamps together and printed them out. I used a die to cut out the image and inked the background with Seedless Preserves Distress Ink, keeping the die in place to create a white border. The Seedless Preserves is highly pigmented, so I took a baby wipe and lightly touched the background to take away some of the colour.
I matted my image onto damson coloured card and popped it on foam tape to be mounted on top of the green magnolia digital paper.
The edges of the background paper were inked in black and matted onto damson card.
